All About The Benjamins: Live a Luxurious Life on a Dime

We all see The Girls. The ones that are living a life that we aspire. Whether it’s owning a farm or a Birkin, we know we just aren’t there yet. Deciding what your version of luxury is personal, finding little ways to cultivate that into your lifestyle isn’t. I’ve curated a list that helped me expand my worldly scope while still remaining in my tax bracket and also offers suggestions for the next level.

  • Buy fresh flowers for your home. Nothing looks more chic than a bouquet of fresh flowers in a vase sitting in your home. It’s the perfect detail and makes a subtle statement. Want to kick it up a notch? Get flowers delivered to your home Urban Stems offers a floral delivery subscription service.

  • Know your food & expand your pallet. Can’t afford to eat out and try new foods? Cook them at home, watch The Food Network, learn about wines and pairing them with your meals. Nothing says “culture” more than being able to whip up a 5 star meal at home. Once you’ve expanded your pallet, look for local wine tastings so you can learn more about wine pairings, regions and notes.

  • Work out! Get active. It’s less about body goals, but about feeling good. Find out what active looks like for you. It can be a walk in the park, a nice yoga class or even a visit to your local planet fitness. Being active builds confidence.

  • Go to network mixers. Connections mean more than anything. When you go out, ENGAGE. You never know who you will meet or what you will find out. Ask questions. Don’t be the girl glued to their phone. Be approachable, friendly and ask questions. You never know who you’ll meet.

  • Read books. Go to museums. There are so many things that you don’t know that you don’t know about. Read your local town’s magazine, find the finest eateries, learn about finances.

  • Find a hobby. Hobbies are awesome conversation starters. They help you destress yourself, reduce chances of depression and aid you in learning patience. Everyone needs a hobby or two.

  • Be Generous, give back. I know it may sound corny, but nothing really says luxury more than giving back to communities and helping others.
